Girls Growing II Women
9th through 12th Grade Students
Meets for 10 months (1st and 3rd Saturday of the month)
What started as only a vision for Latasha Robertson-Crump, turned into a reality in 2013 when Girls Growing II Women inc. was created. The non-profit GG2W was launched to serve as a preventative group for the overlooked population of young women, in the greater Grand Rapids area.
Our core topics include:
- Mental Health
- Self Esteem
- Healthy Relationships
- Internet Safety
- Creating Independent Thinkers
We take pride in bringing in speakers that the girls can not only relate to but that are also professionals in their fields. Girls Growing II Women Inc. identifies barriers and helps to reduce and remove them, that possibly could hinder student’s growth and development.
We have a 98% return rate each year, most students continue to participate in our programing through high school and beyond. 100% of our seniors have graduated and pursued higher education learning. We also have 0% teen Pregnancies.
Our programming also helps to reduce the risk of poor life outcomes by helping students to avoid risky temptations. GG2W provides the tools, resources, and support to implement skills to make healthy decisions, reduce stress and build confidence in the absence of fear. We support and educate young women 14-18 in environments that are conducive to learning and mature development.

Woman II Woman
Woman II Woman
Meets once a month on Saturdays (Closed group, for graduates only)
Transitioning to adulthood can be challenging. Most 18-26 year olds feel they have to figure it all out on their own. Juggling school, work, housing, finances, maintaining mental health, relationships and other challenges of adulthood is hard. Especially, without support.
W2W allows us to bring a Sisterhood to individuals who have graduated from GG2W, and continue to serve them through adulthood while providing a community of support. These women are now facing obstacles that they did not have to worry about while in high school; resulting in a drastically different conversation. Subjects we are focused on:
- Managing Personal Finances
- Establishing Credit
- Budgeting
- Building Healthy Relationships
- Setting Boundaries and Identifying potential red flags
Parent II Parent
Parent II Parent
Parents need the opportunity to learn effective parenting skills to navigate the many challenges that come with adolescence. To improve the identified needs of our participants we believe by working closely with parents to provide: Education, Empowerment, Guidance and tools.
Relationships with parents give teens emotional support, security, safety and increases self-esteem.
We meet with the Cohorts participants’ mothers 3 times throughout the year; some of these meetings are with the students and some are solely the parents. When focusing on the topic of healthy relationships we understand that the first relationship you encounter is with the individuals in your home. Through this programming we focus on having open communication, active listening, honest conversations and normal check-ins with your children.
