About Us

Our Purpose

Girls Growing 2 Women works in the greater Grand Rapids area to help provide the building blocks for empowering and educating young women. We form a positive, tightly-knit supportive sisterhood that encourages participants over their high school period to think independently and become leaders in their community through regular meetings and special activities (including guest speakers, summer camps, community service and special outings). The mission of GG2W is to empower, educate and provide a support system to young ladies while helping them reach their full potential and achieve lifelong success.

Who We Serve

We are uniquely positioned as a prevention organization to serve young women who are oriented toward success and looking for a supportive community to help them reach their goals.

We work with high school students, ages 14-18.

“Helping others is not only my passion, but it’s my purpose. I am proud that Girls Growing 2 Women is able to positively impact my community by helping to empower young leaders, which will help create generations of leaders.

I realized adolescents, who may be on the right track, must still overcome risk factors in their environments that may derail their path. I also realized that not all adolescent girls have a strong supportive network to steer them in the right direction. GG2W was birthed to fill the gaps by providing support, education and guidance for young ladies, while developing a sisterhood!

I obtained my Masters of Social Work from Grand Valley State University 2015. I graduated from Kuyper College 2012 with a dual major of Social Work and Biblical Studies, as well as a minor in Communications.
